Who will benefit from the reduction in electricity bill?

Mosques, governmental schools, colleges, and universities, governmental hospitals and charities will be granted a reduction of 25% on the amount of their monthly energy consumption, and that including the energy consumed by the Jordan Armed Forces, Public Security Directorate, The General Directory of Civil Defense, and General Intelligence Department.

The electrical distribution companies will continue to grant reductions of 75% on the amount of their monthly energy consumption of their employees, who are supplied from any network.

How is the power factor penalty calculated?

0.85 or more No Pen

Less than 0.85 to 0.70

0.77 % of the total bill for every 0.01 of the power factor less than 0.85

Less than 0.70 To 0.60

0.95 % of the total bill for every 0.01 of the power factor less than 0.85

Less than 0.60 To 0.50

1.2 % of the total bill for every 0.01 of the power factor less than 0.85

Less than 0.50

1.5 % of the total bill for every 0.01 of the power factor less than 0.85

How do I know if I am in the JEPCO’s concession area?

JEPCO is the sole provider for the electricity in the cities of Amman, Zarqa, Madaba and Salt.

Who should be called if I have a problem with my electricity supply?

Kindly, report a problem related to your energy source to be solved as soon as it's possible.

You can call one of the following numbers:

  • If the problem inside Amman call 06/ 4696000
  • If the problem inside Zarqa call 05/ 3758000
  • If the problem inside Madaba call 05/ 3294141
  • If the problem inside Salt call 05/ 3493030

What are JEPCO’s business hours?

JEPCO’s offices are opened from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM from Saturday to Thursday to serve the customers, whereas our emergency departments are opened 24 hours, 7 days a week to receive any complain.

What should I do if I saw downed wires?

First, you should STAY CLEAR OF ANY DOWNED WIRES! Then please call immediately one of the following numbers:

  • If the problem inside Madaba call 05/ 3294141
  • If the problem inside Salt call 05/ 3493030

Do not assume that you can solve the problem because your power is out or that the line is dead!

How is electricity delivered to my premises?

There are three steps to getting electricity: generation (production of electricity – under the responsibility of Central Electricity Generation Company, CEGCO), transmission (sending high voltage power to distribution points - under the responsibility of National Electricity Power Company, NEPCO) and distribution (delivering power to your business or home inside the cities of Amman, Zarqa, Salt, Madaba – under the responsibility of Jordanian Electric Power Company, JEPCO).
